Mike & Judith Ran for a Lifeboat

White Church members Mike and Judith Fenton took part in the Great North Run to raise money for a new lifeboat at Lytham St Annes.

They ran in this famous half-marathon event on 10th September 2017.

Mike, who is Webmaster for the White Church, has run in this event once before and Judith, who is an Elder and the White Church Treasurer, has run it twice before. Previously they have raised money for Cancer Research and Parkinson’s UK. This time they chose to support the RNLI Lytham St Annes Appeal.

The purpose of the RNLI Lytham St Annes Appeal is to raise funds to help pay for a new lifeboat for the Lytham St Annes Lifeboat Station. The new Shannon class lifeboat will allow the volunteer crew to launch from the beach more quickly and once afloat, it will have a higher top speed. This will enable the crew to reach those in trouble more quickly.

The RNLI Lytham St Annes Appeal has been chosen as the local charity that the White Church will support this year, voted for by the Church congregation and the support of members of the White Church.has contributed to the £783 Mike and Judith have raised in sponsorship for their Great North Run.
