Christian Aid Week runs from 10th May to 16th May. Under the current circumstances, sadly, donation envelopes will not be collected, and it will not be possible to make a cash donation at all.
Donations can be made online at the Christian Aid website.
Another way to give for Christian Aid Week is to sponsor Simon Helme, Minister of Dursley Tabernacle URC and brother of White Church member Andrew, who is to complete 300,000 steps in May for Christian Aid!
Simon, whose Sunday services some of us have been following recently, says, “I’ve set myself the challenge of walking 10,000 steps each day to raise funds for Christian Aid Week (May 10-16), which will be badly affected by the movement restrictions this year. I apologise in advance because this pledge will inevitably mean that the weather will turn! But I hope you will be able to sponsor me so that as a community we do our best to protect our global neighbours who are in urgent need right now. In Sierra Leone there is just one ICU bed. In Malawi there is one bed per one million residents. 40% of the world do not have access to soap and water in their homes and many millions cannot protect themselves with social distancing because of the cramped conditions in which they live. Lets try and help one step at a time.”
