The first of this year’s Lent lunches organised by Churches Together in Ansdell and Fairhaven was held at the White Church on 21st February.
Over fifty people enjoyed a variety of delicious home-made soups, followed by a hot-cross bun and a cup of tea or coffee.
The meal was free of charge, but guests gave generously to support the wotk of Andrew and Anna Beckham, missionaries among the Laarim people of South Sudan.
Next week’s Lent Lunch will be held at Fairhaven Methodist Church at 12pm (28th February). All are warmly invited to share, in friendship, this simple meal.
