Churches Together in Ansdell and Fairhaven are under the umbrella of Churches Together in Lancashire. Five churches are in the group and the aim is ‘to work together, for the benefit of the community and share our Christian principles.’
We have four services together each year, one for the Week of Christian Unity, a morning open-air service in Ansdell on Good Friday, followed by an indoor Good Friday church service, and we have an Advent service. Each church hosts one of the services in turn but all five churches participate.
There are also Lent lunches, taking place on the first five Wednesdays in Lent. Each church in turn, hosts a simple lunch and these are a wonderful way to share food and friendship.
Each year Churches Together in Ansdell and Fairhaven raise money for a charity. The money is raised from the Lent lunches, a table-top sale and collections at our services. Over the last year £1617.49 was raised for the Fleetwood Community Hub. Now, two projects in The Gambia are to benefit from money raised by the Churches Together group (click here for details).
