The Lytham St Annes Men’s Forum held their annual charity fund-raising coffee morning in the Dawson Hall of the White Church on Friday 23rd February.
The charity being supported this year was the RNLI Lytham St Annes Shannon Lifeboat Appeal and the event was attended by Digby Moulden (Shannon Appeal Chairman), David Forshaw and Sue Forshaw, representing the RNLI.
Proceedings were opened by the Mayor of Fylde, Councillor John Singleton JP and members of the White Church kindly gave their time to serve the tea and coffee. Forum members, partners and friends raised money in a number of ways, including a variety of stalls, a raffle and an auction.
The RNLI Lytham St Annes Shannon Lifeboat Appeal has been well supported by the local community. Not only is it the charity chosen by this season’s President of the Lytham St Annes Men’s Forum, Jim Bretherton, it is also one of the Mayor’s charities and chosen for support by the members of the White Church in the last year. The new Shannon class lifeboat arrives at the St Annes Lifeboat Station on 25th February.
(The Lytham St Annes Men’s Forum offers fellowship and talks on all kinds of subjects, meeting at Lytham Methodist Church Hall from September to March, on Wednesdays 10.00 till 11.30)
