Doves by Yves Cass (2013)

When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.

Genesis 8:11-12

This picture of doves is on the wall of our lounge in France which unfortunately and sadly is out of bounds at the moment!

Yves Cass is the artist who we discovered 20 years ago, he lives and paints in the south of France and also sculpts.

We purchased this picture in 2013 and anyone who knows me understands I have a fear of birds, but I loved this picture of the doves. It speaks to me of peace and also reminds me of the story of Noah especially with the olive branch bringing hope in troubled times, very appropriate for the world today

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27
