The sale of ‘The Real Advent Calendars’ at the White Curch by Janet Sherwood, our Traidcraft and Fairtrade representative, enabled the White Church, along with Fairhaven Methodist, Church Road Methodist, St Josephs, St Cuthberts, St Thomas’ and St Annes UnitedReformed Churche to donate 60 calendars this year for local charities to distribute to families.
For the fourth year running Fylde Fairtrade distributed ‘The Real Advent Calendars’ to Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Homestart, Sydney Street Neighbourhood Centre and Brian House Children’s Hospice.
The Real Advent Calendar contains Fairtrade chocolate, gives a donation to charity and contains the Christmas story. It is designed to share and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, so that Christ is not written out of Christmas.
