Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade Fortnight 2020 runs from Monday 24th February to Sunday 8th March.

The Fairtrade organisation continues its mission to ensure that all farmers are paid fairly for their work and are able to earn a living income.

This year they are continuing to focus on cocoa and the special role women farmers play in the journey to living incomes.

The White Church is a Fairtrade Church – the tea and coffee we serve is Fairtrade.

Janet Sherwood  runs a Traidcraft stall in the White Church almost every Sunday and Janet also supplies Fairtrade goods to other churches and to schools.

Every year Fairtrade Advent calendars are sold and the profits used to purchase more calendars that are donated to Brian House Children’s Hospice, Fylde Foodbank, Children’s Centre and Home Start.

Currently Janet is again selling Fairtrade Easter eggs containing the real Easter message and Easter eggs will be donated in a similar way to the Advent calendars.

On 8th March there will be a Fairtrade raffle with coffee after our Sunday service.
