Outreach Handover

Val Muir, Outreach Group Leader Jan Hirst and Janet Sherwood hand over a donation from the White Church to Digby Moulden at the Lifeboat Station in St Annes.

On Monday 15th January representatives of our Outreach Group presented a £1,000 donation to Digby Moulden – the Chair of Fundraising for the Lytham St Annes RNLI Shannon Appeal.

Money raised through the Shannon Appeal will help to fund a new state of the art lifeboat of the Shannon class, that will be brought into service from February 2018 to replace the current 25-year-old Mersey class vessel.

Each year the White Church votes on a short-list of nominations to decide which local charity they will support and this year the vote for the RNLI Shannon appeal was almost unanimous.

The donation was raised by means of a coffee morning, raffles, selling books and serving tea and coffee.

The activities of the White Church Outreach Group are a way of reaching out into the community to give help and support where it is needed.
